Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962) is one of the twentieth-century's most famous movie stars, sex symbols and pop icons. After acting in small roles for several years, she gradually became known for her comedic skills, sex appeal, beauty and remarkable screen presence, going on to become the most bankable star of the 1950s. Later in her career, she worked towards serious roles with a measure of success. However, disappointments in her personal life deepened longstanding personal problems.
The circumstances surrounding her death have been the subject of endless speculation and conspiracy theories, but this has not tarnished her reputation as one of the most legendary public figures of all time. Useful Links:

| I love MM. I've collected her pictures since age 10. She's came from nothing, but came a long ways, even though she suffered from sexual abuse, childhood neglect, and mental illness. Give her a break, please. |

YEAH I AGREE ... she just made it off her connections but like...she was very pretty and she just played the part of the dumb blond underneath it all she knew what she was doing! |

| Marilyn Monroe was pretty but not much of an actress, singer or dancer. She oozed sex & from the rags of the day (now confirmed true) she was sleeping all over. I think she was good but get over it already. There were way more beautiful & talented actresses of the day who showed up on time & knew their lines like pros. Marilyn was a single dimensional person, a flashy trinket...I admire Jane Russell, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly & Natalie Wood for their work not how many men they could get to drop their pants. What she did with the President & his brother was shameful proving she was nothing but white trash after all. So many stars today want to follow her suit. Money can't buy class. |
